Database Analyst

The Database Analyst position is designed to assist production, asset management, investor accounting, and senior management by performing not limited to the following tasks: (1) write SQL queries and develop SSRS reports to support servicing operations in Precision LM database (2) design and write reports to facilitate communication with senior management about portfolio performance and trends.

The Database Analyst Position is physically located at our headquarters in Carmel, Indiana.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Work directly with investor accounting, asset management, and production to write SSRS reports needed for Precision LM implementation
  2. Organize and facilitate project management of report writing through contractor
  3. Communicate with project stakeholders to appropriately address business needs
  4. Work with COO and department heads to design and implement management reporting tools
  5. The position is a fulltime non-exempt position. Due to the nature of the mortgage business, the position may be required to work overtime hours as needed to meet the needs of the department.
  6. Attend training on applicable subjects when available and appropriate for position.
  7. Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Experience and Education Required
Four-Year College Degree.  Educational or work experience in writing SQL code and/or SSRS reports, with emphasis on finance, real estate or associated fields.  Requires distilling complex ideas into clear messaging, critical thinking skills, prioritization, and multitasking. Excellent skills in working with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook are a requirement.

The Database Analyst position is a full-time, non-exempt position reporting to the chief operating officer and is eligible for the company’s annual discretionary bonus program. Further education in a related field will be considered for reimbursement.

Transaction Manager

The Transaction Manager position is an intermediate, client facing position designed to work closely within the Origination group in vetting opportunities by completing preliminary underwriting and determining the best use of company lending platforms. The position will be responsible for efficiently moving loan transactions from preliminary underwriting through closing as well as streamlining the client interaction process by minimizing client touch points and providing excellent customer service through accurate and timely communication.

A successful Transaction Manager will perform accurate initial underwriting and loan sizing analyses that properly capitalize on a project’s financial strengths and mitigate weaknesses. They will effectively engage in communication with clients that results in positive working relationships and allows for efficient process management through loan closing. Success will be marked by timely work and deadline adherence. Transaction Managers who can work independently as well as part of the Origination and Underwriting teams and are able to learn from each experience will recognize excellent growth paths toward other positions in the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Perform preliminary underwriting to accurately size lending transactions by working with HUD, GSE, and MBI credit teams.
  • Analyze financial statements and reports related to the transaction, such as historical & pro forma property operating statements, rent rolls, sources and uses, real estate owned schedules, appraisals, and project capital needs assessments.
  • Streamline communication for accurate and timely client interaction.
  • Oversee loan from Application through Closing.
  • Support and Assist Originators throughout transaction process.
  • Lead conference calls with clients, legal counsel, closing team, and underwriting teams.
  • Prepare term sheets for review and approval by MBI along with assisting in preparation of HUD & GSE Engagement Letters.
  • Composition and analysis of HUD Concept Packages, GSE Soft Quotes, & GSE Pre-Screens.
  • Review 3rd party reports and communicate any issues.
  • Lead due diligence process with clients and internal company processors.
  • Continuing education on MBI, HUD, RD, FHLMC & FNMA program developments, loan policies, and guidelines.
  • Attend training on applicable subjects when available and appropriate for position.
Expected Experience, Skills and Education:
  • Requires a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, preferably with a focus in finance or commercial real estate.
  • Requires proficiency with Microsoft Office, with emphasis on Excel and Word.
  • Must demonstrate excellent communication, analytical, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Must be self-sufficient with project/timeline management skills; accuracy and attention to details; and the ability to adapt in an entrepreneurial business environment.
  • Must be able to work well under pressure and have the ability to prioritize work to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Requires occasional travel for property inspections, loan closings, training opportunities and transaction meetings. 10% travel overnight – typically 1-2 nights.
  • Knowledge of multifamily real estate and affordable housing development.
